Joe Biden a remporté la course à la Maison Blanche face à Donald Trump, ont annoncé samedi les médias américains. Cette victoire marque un tournant historique pour les Etats-Unis et le monde, après quatre années de rupture sous le président républicain.
Après quatre jours de suspense, le candidat démocrate et ancien vice-président de Barack Obama a été donné vainqueur avec 273 grands électeurs, grâce à un succès dans l’Etat-clé de Pennsylvanie, selon les chaînes CNN, NBC et CBS. Il va devenir le 46e président des Etats-Unis.

Dans une première réaction sur Twitter, Joe Biden s’est déclarée « honoré d’avoir été choisi pour diriger ce grand pays ». Il a promis d’être le président de tous les citoyens américains, qu’ils aient ou non voté pour lui.

De son côté, Donald Trump a accusé son rival démocrate de « se précipiter pour se présenter faussement » en vainqueur de la présidentielle. L’élection est « loin d’être terminée », a-t-il ajouté. La bataille se déroulera sur le plan juridique, promettent les partisans de Donald Trump.
