President Donald Trump has told reporters ⁠at the UN that US officials ‌had a “very good” three-hour meeting on ⁠Tuesday with the ⁠Iranian delegation at the UN General Assembly.

Iranian state media says Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Steve Witkoff met in New York.

Trump says Iran must act ‘fast’ to ‘survive as a nation’

Similarly to his earlier remarks at UNGA, the US president once again threatened Iran of annihilation.

“We’ve isolated Iran financially and hopefully they’ll do the right thing fast,” he said. “There will be a time when it’s too late and we won’t have the chance of letting them survive as a nation.”

“I would like to see that and I can tell you that people around this table would like to see it,” he added.

⁠United States ⁠President Donald Trump has told reporters at the United Nations General Assembly in New York that US officials ‌had a “very good” three-hour meeting with Iranian leaders.

“They had a very good meeting, a very productive meeting,” Trump said.

US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, who have led negotiations with Iran, took part in Tuesday’s meeting, Trump said. Witkoff joined Trump in telling reporters the meeting was “very good” but offered no further details.

Trump said another meeting was scheduled “in the very near future”.
